AF THE NAYSAYER

AF THE NAYSAYER (AF) is the moniker for New Orleans-based, Los Angeles-bred producer Amahl Abdul-Khaliq. 

AF has dispersed his atmospheric productions across 70 cities and at over 300 shows in the US alone. He is a member of the VIBE Music Collective (a multi-disciplinary artist collective co-founded by neo-soul artist Iman Omari featuring Quelle Chris, Cavalier, mogillah and more) and Lead Instructor at local non-profit Upbeat Academy. His collaborations in New Orleans have led him to become the ambassador for Red Bull Music Academy, as well as the founder of beatmaker showcase Dolo Jazz Suite. 

AF has toured with artists including Durazzo, Prism House, and Sports Coach and has opened for Glitch Mob, Om Unit, Quantic, Lapalux, Young Fathers, and the 2016 Mad Decent BUKU Party (feat: Yellow Claw, NGHTMRE, Louis the Child, and Jazz Cartier). He recently received the 2018 Big Easy Music Award for Best DJ/Electronica and was nominated in 2017 for Offbeat Magazine’s Best of The Beat Award for Best Rap/Hip-Hop Artist/Bounce Artist and the Big Easy Music Award for Best DJ/ Electronica.
